Finished Customer Profiling

Since my last blog post, I have been able to get two people to record one of their average weekdays for me, one being a School Pupil from my core target audience of 6-9 years and the other being a Primary School Teacher between the ages of 25-29 years. These recordings were written down for me and I have visually enhanced these and put in my research folder, so this has added to my primary research and has given me accurate information rather than estimated assumptions.

The activities and occurrences throughout their day have given me a colour scheme to work with in my visual promotional methods. The brands they use, wear and experience have also given a greater insight into the consumer attitudes of these age groups, what would be visually attractive to them and most importantly where their key times of promotional influence occur during their average day.

The latter point has helped with the choosing of my promotional methods greatly. For example, I had not fully considered creating a poster to attract the teachers whilst at work, however, the amount of time spent inside the school staff room has shown that a poster is likely to be a crucial promotional tool as well as likely starting word of mouth promotion as the teachers discuss the email that has been received and the poster they are looking at. This will hopefully lead to their registration to the free scheme.

Anyway, an update on commissioning the graphic designer, I have written the project brief for Andrew Cook and we have been in great communication about the aesthetics and content of my promotional methods. I have been sending him all the written information for what my research suggests that I need to include, as well as the colours and visual inspiration. So far, my logo has been created. I am very pleased with the professional finish of the work and I am very excited to see the development of the visual promotions.

Seeing my visuals start to come together is like seeing my scheme come alive! A very exciting time...

I still need to update my customer profiling boards from the ones that I showed to my Lecturer. He said they were a good start and visually they were fairly strong in suiting Disney, but I now need to put all the extra information that I have found out about my core consumers! I want to do this as soon as possible, so it is sorted and another job done.

My next steps:

To carry on my secondary research
Find opportunities for further primary research
Continuation of my report writing
More Visual inspiration for my promotional methods
Network plans for the two websites to send to Graphic Designer
